Patrick "Pat" Sheehan Obituary

VIENNA- Patrick J. Sheehan 71, of Vienna, OH passed away on Saturday afternoon June 30, 2018 with his wife Judie by his side while a patient at the Hospice House in Poland.  He passed away of complications from M.D.S. which he had battled courageously since his diagnosis nearly a year ago.

Pat was born in Warren on June 5, 1947 a son of Robert W. and Grace A. (Ross) Sheehan.  He attended St. Stephen School and Niles McKinley High School before marrying his sweetheart the former Judith A. Loveridge on January 4, 1966.  It was during that following summer that Pat enlisted in the U.S. Army taking his young family on a journey to Berlin, Germany where he would be stationed for nearly three years attaining the rank of Sergeant while there.  For his service he received the Army of Occupation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Expert Rifleman Badge before receiving his honorable discharge from the service in 1972.

Upon his return from overseas, Pat and Judie made their home in Vienna and he found work at VanHuffel Tube in Warren. From there he would go on to proudly work as an electrician for several mills including the former Republic Steel, U.S. Steel in McDonald, and R.M.I. Titanium in Niles where he would retire.   Pat was a proud lifetime member of the V.F.W., the Loyal Order of the Moose Cortland Lodge, and the United Steelworkers Union.

He was famous for his Bloody Mary’s especially on the holidays and known as an extraordinary winemaker who loved to share the fruits of his craft with his family and friends for any reason.  Pat loved to go car cruising all over Ohio with his wife Judie, and was particularly proud of his prized 1965 Ford Falcon and 1983 Ford Mustang.

He was also a music enthusiast who was especially fond of oldies, blues, and classic rock n roll.  He loved taking trips with his family and friends and has fished nearly all the waters from the sandy shores of Lake Erie to the rocky beaches of Maine.

Pat leaves behind his beloved wife of fifty-two years Judie, sons Paul Charles Sheehan of Youngstown, OH and Robert Lester Sheehan of Topsham, ME; his sister Elizabeth Wilson of Girard; brothers Robert Sheehan and his wife Becky of Dayton, Michael Sheehan of Ashtabula, and John Sheehan of St. Louis, MO; more than a few aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous extended family and friends whom he thought of as his own children and grandchildren.  It is often said that if Pat were to have known 10,000 people, he would have surely had 10,000 friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his youngest sister Mary Grace Killius.

Family and friends may pay their respects to Pat on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Dillon & Santucci Funeral Home, 4471 Warren-Sharon Road in Vienna, OH where a service of remembrance will begin at 7:00PM.
